Clerkenwellbeing

"I think creating a safe and supportive community for practitioners and clients alike is one of our proudest moments. We have spent a lot of time carefully selecting practitioners and teachers with a wealth of expertise, passion for their specialist area and commitment ..."

Wanderlust Weekly: Congrats on the growth of your Clinic and Clerkenwellbeing! What inspired their creation? Charlotte Morgan: Thank you! We are delighted to have grown into a thriving multidisciplinary practice with locations in Clerkenwell and Islington. It is great to be able to offer such a wide range of therapies - chiropractic, acupuncture, Chinese herbs, massage, nutrition, psychotherapy, podiatry and more through our clinics; and yoga, pilates, somatic movement and chi kung classes through Clerkenwellbeing, the younger part of our business. My fellow Directors and I had been working together a while when we took on the Clinic and began formulating plans for Clerkenwellbeing. We had seen first-hand the success a combination of therapies working in close communication with each other could provide, so wanted to offer an integrated and holistic approach to health, wellbeing and vitality. We also felt it was important there was something for everybody – from OAP to athlete. With this vision in mind, we developed a range of therapies and classes designed to support clients with all aspects of their health – from therapeutic rehabilitation to aid with chronic health issues and injury, through to personal enhancement and the maintenance of physical and mental wellbeing.

Wanderlust Weekly: You've built a strong community following in London, what are some of your proudest moments? Charlotte Morgan: I think creating a safe and supportive community for practitioners and clients alike is one of our proudest moments. We have spent a lot of time carefully selecting practitioners and teachers with a wealth of expertise, passion for their specialist area and commitment to ensuring individualised care for each and every one of our clients. This focus on individualised care is also one of the reasons we limit the number of participants in Clerkenwellbeing classes. We want them to remain intimate and provide a refreshing and affordable alternative to the 'pack em tight' gym mentality. It is also very important to us that practitioners feel they belong to a knowledgeable and nurturing community of like-minded professionals who can share perspectives from their relevant fields and continue to develop as practitioners. The creation of our second Clinic in Clerkenwell and Clerkenwellbeing in 2012 was also a key achievement – everything from the building work through to launch. At the same time this was going on, we were moving our Islington Clinic to new premises. It was very hard work but rewarding! We are really pleased with the end result though and feel we have managed to create tranquil havens in two very frenetic areas of London.

Wanderlust Weekly: The wellness field is constantly evolving, what upcoming news or developments can we look forward to? Charlotte Morgan: As you quite rightly say, the field of wellbeing is constantly evolving. We continue to expand what we offer by increasing the range of reputable therapies and selection of classes on offer. We are not a ‘fad’ business though and therefore what matters most to us is that when we add a new therapy or class, there is clear evidence to support that they have the potential to improve individual health and wellbeing. We are also looking to provide more extensive courses for those wanting to extend their practice within one of the areas of practice we offer, and short workshops or informative courses for those seeking to develop new skills (e.g. massage for home use).  [ learn more ]
