Inner Power Yoga

"I have been humbled by the support from students and incredible teachers who have seen the vision and spirit that is the pulse of my studio ..."

Wanderlust WeeklyCongrats on the growth of Inner Power Yoga! What inspired its creation? Linda Suffin: I was an avid student of Bryan Kest back in 1991 when I took my first class with him. During that time in my life I was getting my Bachelor’s and then Master’s Degree in Food Science, Dietetics and Nutrition which lead to a career helping others find the right way to stay healthy through nutrition.  However, when I started teaching yoga in addition to the counseling, and had an opportunity open Inner Power Yoga in Calabasas with Bryan Kest in 1998, I knew I was on the right path for me and something truly special for this community in the West Valley.

Wanderlust Weekly: You've built a strong community following in Los Angeles, what are some of your proudest moments? Linda Suffin: Some of my proudest moments over the years have been the strength of the yoga community that has blossomed and persevered for over 18 years despite the insurgence of so many other studios, corporate

and independent. I have been humbled by the support from students and incredible teachers who have seen the vision and spirit that is the pulse of my studio.  It’s also been incredible to witness the evolution of people’s desire to learn and integrate more of the ancient science and philosophy of yoga, through classes, workshops, and teacher trainings we have offered over the years.

Wanderlust Weekly: The wellness field is constantly evolving, what upcoming news or developments can we look forward to? Linda Suffin: I have made a point of always keeping my own mind and studio open to new areas of education that follow the path of holistic health and healing: from reiki, sound, kirtan, yoga nidra, meditation, to other workshops that empower us all to make the changes we want to see in ourselves and the world around us. Inner Power always welcomes visiting teachers and educators to share their knowledge about how to live a more conscious, mindful and accountable life.  We hope to enrich our students with more in depth trainings like our upcoming 300 hour training. The bottom line has always been to give the community what they ask for: a studio that is truly there to be of service to them.  [ learn more ]
