Narayana Integrative Center

"Ayurveda is my passion. My first space, in Manhattan after two years became too small and by that time I also got to know that many yogis don't know about Ayurveda when in truth Ayurveda and yoga are sister sciences and one doesn't exist without the other ..."

Wanderlust Weekly: Congrats on the growth of Narayana Center! What inspired its creation? Katia Laine: The original idea came to me many years ago when I was looking to find a spiritual teacher or/and a practice for myself and had a very bumpy ride before I found what I was looking for. There are so many modalities out there! I wanted to create a safe space for people to come to, ask questions and find them in one place. I wanted to build a community of practitioners and seekers, based on the basic principle of Ayurevda: every person is unique, there is not one rule that can be applied to all except that for us to be happy and healthy we need to find our own individual balance. And we are here to help with that :)

Wanderlust Weekly: You've built a strong community following in Brooklyn, what are some of your proudest moments? Katia Laine: Ayurveda is my passion. My first space, in Manhattan after two years became too small and by that time I also got to know that many yogis don't know about Ayurveda when in truth Ayurveda and yoga are sister sciences and one doesn't really exist without the other. And making a long story short, that is how Narayana Integrative Center was born. I wanted to bring the two together in one place. I have contacted Anton who graduated from a Shivananda Yoga school at the time and shortly after Narayana came to life :).

Wanderlust Weekly: The wellness field is constantly evolving, what upcoming news or developments can we look forward to? Katia Laine: When I see people not wanting to leave after the class or an event, or when they are coming in for information only, but stay for longer, that makes me very happy and proud to be able to share with people Narayana's work. We are working on building a bigger community of practitioners, who are sharing the practice of yoga, Ayurveda, rolfing, herbology, reiki, breathwork, meditation, kids yoga, monthly women gathering and much more. Our main practice of Ayurveda is evolving and we are working to make it more accessible to people, new affordable packages are coming soon!  [ learn more ]
