Reflections Center for Conscious Living & Yoga
"I love how on any day you can find Swami teaching the ancient text and a high Roshi teaching Zen meditation across the hall. I like that people feel at home at Reflections ..."
Wanderlust Weekly: Congrats on the growth of Reflections! What inspired its creation? Paula Tursi: created Reflections Center for Conscious Living & Yoga because I felt like we needed a place where people that wanted to look a little deeper, but didn't want to be told how or what they should be exploring to go. I have kept my doors open to all types of teaching. As long a there was an honest exploration I was happy to share our space. I also felt passionate to have a place that taught a more traditional form of yoga. At Reflections we teach a slower deeper form of yoga. For people who are looking for a fast flow, this wouldn't be that place. Though challenging, our classes take the time needed to explore and encourage it. I also wanted to create a place where people who would comfortable in more fast paced studio could find a home.
Wanderlust Weekly: You've built a strong community following in New York, what are some of your proudest moments? Paula Tursi: think it is a continuous moment. I love how on any day you can find Swami teaching the ancient text and a high Roshi teaching Zen meditation across the hall. I like that people feel at home at Reflections. I do feel a little taller because I believe I have created a place where everyone feels comfortable. People say that it feels healing to walk in the door. That makes me smile.
Wanderlust Weekly: The wellness field is constantly evolving, what upcoming news or developments can we look forward to? Paula Tursi: I think what is most new is that I will be relaunching my work. I have spent a good bit of time getting Reflections off the ground, including our 200 and new 300 hour yoga teacher's trainin. Now I am ready to launch my new work, Life by Design. It is a series of programs that you can take with me to and begin to design your life consciously. My favorite part is a online 8 week course where we take your goal or what I call your "bliss dream" (the thing you have always wanted to do but didn't dare) and use it as a catalyst to bring up your deepest shadows and in the process of moving toward the goal heal the things that have been getting in your way for maybe a life time! People grow tremendously in this course. I love that I can add value to people's lives. The online is just one way to start the journey. There is a yoga class, a retreat and a teachers' training or immersion. These are all ways to take a more immerve ourne towar align your life with who you know yourself to be one the deepest leve. Thanks for letting me alk about it. As you can see I'm very inspired by the work. [ learn more ]
