You Might Never Want to Leave This Treehouse Hotel Room in Tulum

Rule your own domain just like when you were a kid: from a treehouse. Some of the best things about childhood have happened in treehouses, like slumber parties and telling scary stories. Now you can relive the magic of playing high above the ground at this resort’s beautiful treehouse suite. The Papaya Playa hotel in Tulum, Mexico, features plush accommodations, a beach club with a live DJ, and nearly a mile of private beaches for its guests, but the best room at this hotel has to be its special treehouse in the middle of the jungle.

The suite was designed by Emilio Heredia, who is the architect behind the entire resort. Guests climb up a beautiful, carved wood, spiral staircase to reach this unconventional lodging, which has a reading room for guests to relax and take in the scenery. According to Lonely Planet, all the rooms at Papaya Playa are constructed with special “non-invasive” techniques that has left the surrounding jungle 94 percent intact. The beautiful treehouse is just one accommodation for guests who want to connect with nature as well as bask in luxury in Tulum. “It’s a place created for like-minded people,[for] creative individuals to unwind and connect with self and nature,” a representative for the resort told Lonely Planet.
